Yes, it is. You should use a cable rated for ATA-133 though. Another thing to look out for, if your computer isn't one of the latest Power Macs or so, it might not be able to make partitions larger than 137 GB because most older ATA controllers only handle a 28-bit address space.

Latest PowerMac is relative. My Quicksilver 2002 work well with my 160GB Western digital HD (one 149GB partition formated)
