Realplayer/iTunes problem

iTunes starts automatically when I download a realplayer file. It doesn't play it though.

How do I get Realplayerone to automatically play these files? I selected all the right options when I downloaded it, but iTunes seems to over ride it.

    what is the extension?

right click on the file and go to "open with..."

    go to "other"

    navigate to RealONEPlayer

click on the "always open with" checkbox

    open the file

Doing the above turns the file chosen into a Realplayer file, but all .ram files are still automatically launching iTunes unless changed manually.

"get info" on the file from the finder

    open the "open with" triangle

select "RealOne Player" from the pulldown menu (if it is not there click "other" and navigate to it like before)

    click "change all"

    that should do it

i wasn't sure if the file was generic in that maybe you didn't want all of those files changed (this can be annoying) but i guess you do because the only thing that can play .ram files is RealOne Player
