migrate data from macbook hard drive to new mac
So my mom spilled coffee on her macbook pro and damaged the keyboard, optical drive, and the screen. We managed to save the hard drive and are getting a new macbook pro. I was wondering if anyone knows if we put the old drive into a external enclosure could we use the migration assistant to move all her information into the new MBP.

So you should be able to plug it in via USB and choose the option to migrate from a disk. You'd just buy a USB 3 enclosure like this:

If it doesn't work for some reason, you can always get another drive, boot from the original and then make a Time Machine backup to the other drive and migrate from Time Machine.
