151.

10 gb Windows iPod. Reformated to HFS when I realised that what I really needed was a shiny new iBook!

(It works much better than the old Mac Portable I used to have...unlike my P3 Toshiba Satellite...!)

20Gb, bought in Hong Kong (not in honour of tonton, but this posting is). Pod makes London commuting quite relaxed.

tonton - had a week in HK. loved it. Happy Valley races, big Buddha, Peninsula, and lots of strolling around Kowloon soaking atmosphere.

    ----------------

    London weather: dull mcdull

Now playing (on pod): Half Man Half Biscuit / Back in the DHSS

Picked up 154 (20GB) while in the States last week. I'm trying to replace my 6-year-old MD player/recorder and iBook.

    It's not so bad.

    156. I got the 5 gig model when it first came out and I'm still using it everyday. iPod, I love you.

Just ordered my 20GB from Apple Store UK. Any updates in the next 2 weeks and it goes back.

    MINUS 1 (155)

As you can see in the "something's fishy" thread in Future Hardware, my iPod was a casualty to an exploding can of Coke.

It was the original, used every day, and absolutely reliable... until this.

As soon as the new ones are released, it is getting replaced.

Been trying to get a 10 or 20GB iPod in UK for last two weeks via a dealer (MacWarehouse type). The two main suppliers in the UK who the dealers get their gear from - Ingram Micro and Computer 2000 - are both out of stock of any sized Mac iPods. Coincidence?

One of them (Comp 2k) told my dealer today that it was 'because of the Chinese new Year!!' - I actually overheard the conversation.

Does this suggest a revamp in the Apple version?

Note: Apple (UK) store have a 5-7 days lead time. I know there may be some available in other places but have reasons for going through my dealer. There are loads of Windows versions about.

My 20 gigger just shipped from Apple Store UK.

    Should be here by Wednesday.

<a href="http://www.johnlewis.com"; target="_blank">www.johnlewis.com have loads available to UK buyers.

The fact that John Lewis have them and Apple have started to ship back orders might indicate no update soon.

I hope I'm wrong cos mine'll go back.

I'm involved in an event that I'd rather not talk about, and we were supposed to be getting an iPod from Apple as a prize, but we were told that they couldn't get us one. So they gave us an iBook instead, and we've now been told that we are going to get the iPod as well! I believe it's a 5 GB one, so it appears that there are still some around.

Edit. On that note, I'd better change my location. Internship form going in soon...
