looks like palm is making a keyboard like the treo as an add on... could be intresting... I'm still probably going to get the Treo 270 as its in color. Plus I dont want to pay palm a monthly fee....

Keyboard? Palm takes yet another step in trying to keep up with the Highly Advanced Newton Messagepad.

    Monochrome screen?! 8MB RAM?!

I can accept that this 'emerged' from the Yankonit 'pipe line'. I will not purchase this PDA and will wait to see if the ARM Palms are any better.

Of course, I still maintain my vow to skip my Palm III across and into the nearest large, deep body of water when/if ever the new Apple PDA is released. On that note, I will wait seated in a semi-lotus position, huddled around the dimming Newton Campfire of Hope with my fellow Apple PDA outbackers chanting "New Newton soon, New Newton soon..." to the accompanyment of digeradoos (and I'm sure THAT's spelled wrong).

I can't tell you how unimpressed I was with this thing. Big deal, it downloads my email automatically. Where are the advancements in how well it works? Grafitti sucks, the OS is boring and there has been nothing compelling to come with a Palm OS since my Palm V came out almost 3 years ago. They are dead in the water. Ok, Apple, your turn

I'm starting to think I agree with this sorta talk. The PDA industry is sucking majorly just now due to lack of innovation.

    King of innovation?? Apple.

I don't think the innovation is lacking. Between Sony and Handspring, the features are there. There's just no flair--or a "Ta Da!" to make the product just that much cooler than the competition. Like the new iMac, iBook, or iPod. Seasoned Mac users need that Applesque type of excitement to really get excited about a product. We've been spoiled, I guess.

My Palm m500 has a 32MB SD card. By the way, you can't compare RAM between Palms and other handhelds like Newtons and PocketPCs (I think the PC in PocketPC is for Piece of Crap <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> ) because Palms are much more efficient than other handhelds. For example, SimCity on my 33MHz Palm, which is about 250KB, runs just as fast as 1MB+ programs on 100-200MHz handhelds. And therefore, you cannot compare megahertz between handhelds.
