swipe between pages freezing pages in safari

Since updating to mavericks, using the magic mouse gesture to swipe between pages keeps freezing the page in safari, it stays stuck in a kind of half swiped view and reloading doesn't help, i have to close the tab and start over. I've almost completely given up on it and gone back to using the keyboard shortcut like a caveman. A very annoying bug. Anyone know of a solution?

    Hi there! I'm having the same issue and can't seem to solve it, have you had any luck?

    I've got a trackpad and haven't seen the problem you talk about so may be a solution
