Apple quote: iPod and the PC

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
Okay, I was poking around apple's new<a href=""; target="_blank">SWITCH section and I came across this quote

[quote]You can also use an iPod or other FireWire hard drive for high-speed transfers, provided your PC has a IEEE 1394 port. All new Macs have FireWire ports, so you can plug in both hard drives and DV camcorders.

No mention of 3rd party software.....

I think Windows 2000 has rudimentary support for HFS. Not sure though. It is definitely easy to do with a FireWire HDD formatted as FAT32 though. Just plug in the HDD to the PC, format as FAT32, copy files, unmount HDD, plug into Mac, copy files...
