I'm looking to buy... does anyone know the date they will be in the Apple stores?



anyone aware of a deal if you buy it w/a mac?*



*not that important, but would be nice... if i can't find one im hoping to get it the day it comes out.... so i need to know when to carry the $500 around so i can buy it...

    You get a deal with education or ADC (Apple developer) membership. I've signed up for ADC and will be buying a Powerbook and iPod when they update the powerbook sooner or later.

    are you sure the discount you are talking abou isnt JUST for the iPod (because im getting that) but you get more then the measly $30 EDU discoun if i bought both a PB and iPod?



    Edit: also, Jamie... now I'm not against the ide of making DH more active and all, but couldnt this thread have just as well stayed in CH?? i mean it is the current iPods I'm talking about here... maybe if i was in GD or FH i would have moved it to DH.... but it was perfectly fine in CH.... oh well too late now... just pointing out that it was kinda redundant to move the thread... <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" /> <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

    Hey FG: Do you know if student ADC membership allows one to buy the iPod? The evidence (i.e. sending in a fax of your classes) is only required for purchasing a system or for any purchases?

    The ADC product page allows you to buy an iPod. You get a greater disount than college education disounts. The ADC membership places no limits on the number of Personal Lifestyle device (iPods and future Apple personal devices) disounts. The ADC discount is only good on one computer though. It also costs $99 so its not worth it just to buy a cheaper iPod.

    Thanks Flash: I would imagine it is worth it since for $99 you get Jaguar + iPod at up to $100 discount + ADC student benefits. I asked because my student ID and school e-mail still works but I am no longer a student.
