Just as the subject says...Which PDA is the best? Money is NO object!!!!!!!!!! <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

Also, as a side note, do you know if Pocket PC PDAs are compatible with Macs?

The best PDA is currently probably the iPaq 3870.

The bluetooth connectivity feature is really great if you use the PDA to access mail and internet services via a BT-compliant phone - once you've seen the ease of use, you'll never go back to IrDA !

The advantage of the iPaq are their sheer numbers: since they have the largest installed base, there's also the largest choice of add-ons, cards, gadgets etc.

The drawback for Mac-users: connectivity to Macs sucks pretty badly. There's one software that is supposed to do the job (www.pocketmac.net) but the reviews I read about it were less than enthousiastic. You need to decide for yourself if it's worth the try - but if the quality of the PDA by itself is the main criterium and price no concern, the 3870 should be the prime choice.

BTW, there should be some good bargains out there for this device, since HP/Compaq already announced the succesor product line 3900.

IMO ::: I'd wait for Palm OS 5

Yep, the iPaq does look really cool (I'll run it through my Windows emu) but, as said, I may want to wait for palm os 5 and get an M505...

Not an iPaq. iPaq has alwyas been plagued by prodution problems (the most infamous being dust under screen). I would get a Toshiba e750. Unlike iPaq, it has dual slots (CF and SD) and also built-in wi-fi. It has its problems too but I'd pick the Toshiba over Compaq or any Palm devices.

The NV70 is nice and if I had to get a Palm, that's what I would get as well. However, it will not be upgradeable to the next version of PalmOS which runs on the StrongARM chip.

PocketPC OS is so much better than Palm it is amazing. The new Toshiba e740 with the 400mhz processor is the best PDA ever. It is also the first PDA with built in 802.11b. Go for that, you won't regret it. I had a first generation iPaq and PocketPC is great! The Toshiba is way better than the other PocketPC's.

Ya, the Toshiba kicks, and the Sony also kicks too. So many PDAs, so little time!!!!!!!!

Of course, as said, the Sony can't be upgraded...and I've seen pics of OS 5 and it's really cool looking.
