Alternatives to Palm desktop?

Is there any other sofware that I can install to backup my Palm IIIE. I don't like the way Palm Desktop uses up CPU power all the time. Is there anything in Jaguar that I can use for backup?

    I am hoping that combination of Apple's iCal, Address Book and iSync will become a complete replacement for Palm Desktop. For now, however, we have no choice but to use Palm Desktop.
