Budget alternative to iPod - Archos 20gb for $280

Ok - we all know this is not as pretty nor as functional as the iPod but Archos 20gb jukebox is only $280 at buy.com! <a href="http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10309215&loc=101"; target="_blank">http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10309215&loc=101</a>; It is also good that it is both PC and Mac compatible out of the box. The 10 gb version is only $200 after rebate and coupon.



The bad thing is that it is USB 2.0; both of my PCs have firewire. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    aPple people are like Rolls Royce owners.

    If your drive a Rolls you don't pay much attention to Ford sales.



    Most aPple people are snobbish that way too.



    I have had a 40GB Neo Jukebox since 2001 because I'm not Brand Loyal to any company that can't keep up with the users needs. The iPod is nice, but it is about 6 months behind the storage curve. Even though the new Archos player too has limited storage, it is more a personal media device( Like what the iPod could be ).



    So the old Archos player is being dumped now that their new player is so much better.
