Use Mac ipod on windows???

Ok, aside for the 3rd party solutions (media four...) What are the technical reasons why you can't use a mac ipod with the windows software?? It seems to me that all you would have to do, is format the drive FAT, and re-create the folder structure. Does anyone know whether this will work or not? Thanks!

    I think the biggest problem is that the windows software required for the iPod is only available when you buy the PC iPod.



    The P.C. software isn't available for download. Guess they don't want anyone switching back.



    Anyway, if you can get a hold of the software, I don't believe you'll have anymore problems.

    Cool ... Hey someone send me an iPod and i will try it now!!



    I just had to install a minimal winzoz on my linux pc.. just cos too lazy to config my linux to be online when i can't use the ibook...



    ..could the ipod work with linux then? or i'd need a 3rd type of file system ... in the same 4,6 G HD...
