I would love a Preview app. It would solve a simple problem that no 3rd party apps do.
With everything sandboxed in iOS I'm not sure how it would work. On the Mac images and PDFs open in Preview from other apps. I am having a hard time seeing Apple kick you out of one app to open up those files in another app instead of having the developer take the simple steps to support those file types. And TextEdit just doesn't seem like a good fit for iOS, especially when we have Notes.
For these reasons I'm going to go all in by saying these are not coming to iOS 8 without some serious changes to how these apps work.

Also, Textedit is a leftover from Next, its an afterthought to Apple and has never been of use for marketing in 14 years since OS X was first released.
There is absolutely no reason for them to push it as feature today when it hasn't been modernized in all that time.
Preview is also of no use on iPhone. Preview of what? The image you have in Photos or iPhoto which already display your image?
Preview of the PDFs I saved in preview.app icloud.
No Photoshop required. Any developer could create an "app" (a stub of an app, no functionality required) called TextEdit or Preview with those icons and have them appear on their home screen with about 10 minutes' effort. That proves absolutely nothing.
Having said that, why would Apple create a third text editor/word processor for iOS when they already provide Notes and Pages? Makes zero sense.
Whoever whipped this up should have included Terminal and Finder icons too to really freak (gullible) people out.
When you go to CapsLock mode... the UP-Arrow gets a line below it, and it jumps up a little - which is not really Apple'ish. And that looks very awkward.
they should have maintained the arrow size same and the same. YOu know what I mean?
A centralized place where all my files are displayed is essential. No need for more than one level folders. Give the user the possibility to see all the files he owns on every device and filter them as usual, like in the 'all files' section in OSX. That would be great because sometimes it's faster to just look for a file and select the app to open it rather than going into an app to transfer it to another app.
Can you give an example of this? I've been using my iPhones and iPad for a few years now and really haven't felt constrained by the lack of a Finder-like file viewer. But then I don't use my iPad as a laptop or desktop replacement, and I'm ok with that.

I could see it working similar to how my PDF Pro app works. You receive a file attached in an email, you tap it and it opens in Preview. You then save it into Preview's sandboxed file system which could sync to iCloud. Same thing for .txt files in TextEdit. A lot of times a developer needs a pure txt file for a config setting or just so that they know there is no formatting like in rtf file.

I don't see THAT as a problem (really hard to notice under your thumb and who cares if it moves up a pixel to make room for the bar). What I find odd is the shading. It's hard to tell when it's "highlighted" since it's grey to start with and turns white when when pressed. I assume that that changed with 7.1. But not a huge deal either way.
They do know that Apple uses steganography in the background images to discover where leaks are coming from, right? That starry night background contains more than just stars; there's a code in there pointing straight to the leak.

I doesn't jump. It only appears to because it's of the chaining from the Caps to Caps-lock icons. I think the little jump is also a handy way of knowing that you've successfully activated Caps-lock.

I'm unsure what you mean, but if you mean that it was better before I kind of disagree, because it's easier to tell now if you've Caps or lock set.

Wait, every single internal beta has a slightly different Springboard image to distinguish exactly which device it’s running on? " src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
That sounds exactly like something Apple would do, but I know they’re not doing it.
Healthbook doesn't even sound like an Apple name.. lol - not Apple'ish at ALL.. it would be simple.. like iHeart, or iHealth.. Healthbook makes no sense as a name..

"serious changes to how the apps work"
Preview of the PDFs I saved in preview.app icloud.
Makes sense.
Ah shit.
What's up with it?
Not believing it. Those icons look WAY too good.
Apple's been crapping it up so much lately that there's no way they're going to use icons that look that nice.

So where's the iTunes Radio app I don't see it.
You said the same thing on The Verge. What's your point?
