Playcount update
Is it just my setup (PowerBook G4/667 + iPod 5GB) that have a problem with updating the playcount between the iPod and iTunes ?
The playcounts gets updated on both individually, but say I have a song in iTunes with a playcount of 10, and upload it to the iPod. Then I take the iPod with me for a jog, and play that song 4 times. I get home and plug in the iPod. iTunes should then update the playcount to 14, right ? Isnt that what Steve Said when iTunes 3 was introduced ?

The playcount will only be updated if u play the songs in your ipod under the playlist function.
If u play the songs in your ipod through "browse songs" function, the playcount will not be updated. That is, your playcount will only be updated if u put your songs in a playlist and u play the playlist.
Dun ask me why.... <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

This is not what I found. Apple's documentation says that playcount will be updated (only) if you transfer songs over to your iPod using Smart Playlists.
I did this, and even if I browse using Artist or Album, when I reconnect my pod the playcount is incremented. However, I also noticed that it incremented (albeit irregularly) when I was not using a Smart Playlist.
hth,
EDIT: Oh wait a minute. Maybe it was updating irregularly before because I happened to have played it using the (non Smart) playlist (which I rarely use). However, I did find that playing when a Smart Playlist is present will always update, no matter how you listen.
