Which iPod case is the best?

Hey guys,

In a couple of weeks I think I am going to pick up a 20GB iPod. Since I have had many many many many scratches on my old on, I was wondering which iPod case would work the best. I was leaning towards the ExtemeMac iPod case, but it started to take off the finish of my old one... Has anyone else seen this happen?

The Apple one is good but you have to keep taking it out of the case and (according to my brother, a fellow 20GB owner) the belt clip puts pressure on the back of the iPod causing it to scratch the back of it.

Can you see my pain?!

Alright, well if anyone could tell me which iPod case has worked the best for them, I would appreciate it.

    get in touch with this guy.... you can use his cover in conjunction with the apple case, and you wont get scratches....

    it is a very good solution... my 20 giger looks like new, and i have had it as long as they have been available in stores and have used it close to every day since then....

    I like the iGlove seen <a href="http://www.eugenechan.com/gallery/2002nlcs/PA120010"; target="_blank">here.</a>

    I don't think it fits the 20 GB iPod though.

    I agree with tonton. I used to be anal about my iPod's appearance, but I've since decided that it's not worth it to be so concerned about little scratches here and there. My iPod gets thrown in my pocket without protection now. Sure it's got some scratches, but nothing too bad. I just make sure I don't have keys in my pocket and I don't worry about it. It really saves me lots of trouble...

    Depends on what your preference's and priorities are. If all you want is scratch protection, get one of those rubber sleeve's or a film wrap. If you want to clip to your belt/clothing, or have storage space for accessories then that will dictate another type of case. I chose to have lots of storage and carrying options so I went with the HeadRoom ipod bag. ( ipodlounge.com has a review and link to HeadRoom's website). It is much larger than most cases for the ipod and has 3 compartments. One for the ipod, one for a portable amp system Headroom sells and one for your EarBuds. I also noticed on my older 5G model that the firewire and phones port where wearing out after numerous connections. I now have my firewire and headphones connected all the time. I keep them coiled up in the Headroom bag, I also have an Xtreme company headphone splitter so that I can also quick connect to my cassette adapter in my car.

    Since buying my iPod, I've found nothing that beats my old sock for protection. It's a pink Powerpuff Girls sock that I'd never wear, but fits the iPod perfectly.

    Of course it's not much use if you like to show your 'Pod, have it out on display, but it's ideal if you keep it tucked away in a bag or pocket.

    Admittedly it's a little embarrassing if you have to take it out for any reason, but most of the time I just use the wired remote.

    The Power Puff girls are nothing to be ashamed of

    I second the Waterfield iPod case, and pretty much all of their bags in general. <a href="http://www.sfbags.com/"; target="_blank">http://www.sfbags.com/</a>;
