QTSS/DSS questions

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
Anyone use quicktime streaming server or darwin streaming server? I'm thinking about using it for my sister's engagement, but I can't figure out how much bandwidth would be required. Is it hard to configure? I've read through the documentation and it seems simple enough but surely there's more to it. TIA.

    I set it up and it was pretty straightforward. The bandwidth usage is (number of viewers + 1) * (stream bandwidth).

    I don't think you'll have too much trouble with it. It's not particularly easy to set-up, especially if you are trying to use it in conjunction with QT Broadcaster, but once you do set things up right the first time, there's no need to fiddle any more.



    You should create a second named user other than the Admin user. There are other passwords for the various streaming services that you'll need to set-up.
