Anyone have any good suggestions on an optical mouse for my iBook. I bring it to school a lot, and use it at home as well. Want something small with a scroll wheel and two buttons. And suggestions on where to buy it, the cheaper the better, I don't need anything to crazy, just small and inexpensive.

Thanks

This one looks pretty cool. It matches the iBook, is portable, has 2 buttons & a scroll wheel, and is only $39.00.

This cheap one from CompUSA works fine with my iBook, $15.

Also, if you don't mind rebates, there's a $20 rebate on the Logitech mouseman traveler, you can get a purple one at amazon for $28 shipped, rebate form is here:

Kensington makes a small USB mouse with a cable that retracts into the body. I think it's called the Pocket Mouse Pro, though I'm not sure. Look it up, it looks really cool. I even think the Apple Store sells them.

The Kensington Mouse is great. I have it. They also just introduced a wireless version.

The software Kensington gives you to use with the mouse is great too. You can have different click combinations pre-programmed for any app. Just a nice product all around. Any of their mice are good, but those two above are ideal for a notebook computer.

I personally don't like any of the 'mini' mice, I've found a nice full featured logitech works just fine with excellent precision. I'd suggest a MX 300, though I use a Dual Optical SE myself (these are basic optical mice with 3 buttons and a scroll wheel, the scroll wheel acts as the third button). I'd shy away from MacAlly, though I haven't purchased from them in years there's a good reason they lost my business.

Here's a left-fielder for you.....get the Wacom "quartz" colored Graphire 2....it's not just for graphic designers anymore (although that's why I use it). Using a pen to navigate your desktop is a quick and elegant solution, and the pen's built-in button provides you with two addition programmable clicks.

The only downside I would note is that you do not get a scroll button and you must keep track of both your tablet AND your pen.

    Food for thought.

    Oh yeah, $99.

I got a Logitech Dual Optical to replace my old Kensington ThinkingMouse, and it's great. Comfy, accurate, not too expensive. Scroll wheel, two top buttons and a thumb button. Thumb button is perfect for the grappling hook in Quake.
