HK/iPod In-car thoughts.

I thought this might be cool;

Apple get Harmen Karmen (sp?) to make an in-car cd-player/tuner with a rubberised slot to slip (and hold) an iPod into. The header-unit would "talk iPod" and show track names and allow for wheel-mounted control.

I can't even see it costing too much to add to an existing 2DIN high header. It could charge the iPod too.

Oh and it wouldn't have to be HK obviously, I was just thinking of the soundsticks.

Workable idea guys?

    I think it's a great idea. The only problem is that for security reasons, many new Cars have custom stereos moulded into the fascia.

    I would buy one in a second (assuming the deck itself was high quality)

    I'd love this. But I don't think Apple will get anyone else to do it. It would have to be some other company deciding to make it and releasing it.

    Though Apple would have to provide some sort of interface for getting song details out of the ports while playing.
