..how far could they go

1. new motherboard

2. faster , bigger cache

3. faster ram

4. faster ata bus

can we expect ALL of the above in one go - or will we have to wwwwwait - as usual..!?

Apple seems to be dragging its heels somewhat , the G4 is a good chip it just needs a motherboard capable of showing it off.

    Depending on the mood:

Pessimistic 'Milk it to the Max' Mood: we will have the same enclosure just with a little bit faster processor -> Dual 1.13 Ghz.

Mild 'AI' Mood: DDR-RAM, FSB 133 Mhz, ATA 100, Maybe FireWire 2 and G4 up to Dual 1.4 Ghz

Optimistic Mood: New Mobo with Rapid I/O, FSB at 500Mhz, DDR-RAM up to 333 Mhz, FW2... and G5 up to 1.6 Ghz

    Hoping for the best...

I'd like to see 66MHz or 100 MHz PCI slots, they are years behind the times with the 33Mhz ones that they currently sport.

Maybe some support for some new technology built in. Bluetooth? PCI-X?* 3GIO?* AGP8x? Gigawire? USB2.0?

    The possibilities are endless really.

*Not likely I realise, but still, would be cool for Apple to get another first in here.
