Why's the install music from OSX, everywhere?

Ever since Mac OSX came out I have been hearing that 'Sofa Surfers' Track On TV. Any time they want some 'stylish'/ 'watery' / 'smooth' music It now seams to get played, sametimes only in short snatches. what's going on, I thought that track had been out ages, and all of a sudden BAM! Its everywhere.
