Poll: Software will be used for MWSF 2002 bake off
Why don't we just guess what kind of apps will be used for the MWSF 2002 Mac vs PC bakeoff
I think the apps that will be using in the show really depend on what chip the new PowerMacs are using.
Forget Maya. This app is very very slow like ****ing hell and it's 0.5 version behind other platforms so there is NO way to use it.
In the case of G5
1) Lightwave 7.0b
2) Photoshop 6.5 BETA --- if Adobe delivers
3) SETI
In the case of Apollo
1) Photoshop 6.5 beta. If the 6.5 isn't there....version 6 running under OS 9
2) Office X?????

Note: Only select filters will be used to rig the bake-off, so that even a Sawtooth G4 Powermac at 400 MHz could win.
<strong>Photoshop, because the Pentium 4 will stomp the Powermac using any other application.

I am doubting any Pentium out there now will stomp a 1ghz G4 or higher, when you say "stomp" you DO realize your talking 2/3 seconds here at most. That isn't "stomping"
Photoshop is overall faster on the Mac.. not just in "select filters" Remember I said overall.
I have little doubt that the Carbonized version will be many times slower than the Classic version; so, I think we'll be seeing OS9 bakeoffs for quite a bit more time to come...
Where'd you get this info?
Mac Guru
<strong>Photoshop 6.5... in OS9, no less.
