maybe if mac users actually bought them we would have more

Aspyr had plans to bring several other EA Sports titles to the mac but Madden 2000 sales sucked. therefore, no more titles.

I only posted this 30 minutes ago but come on! I want NBA Live 2003, and Madden 2003, or the next Tiger Woods game. The lack of sports games really is a big problem that the mac gaming community faces. Help out!

Applenut, good point. However, there are now more macs that are capeable of playing these games. Back when Madden 2000 came out, only the G4's with the Radeon could play them well, now all macs can.

THOSE OF YOU WHO'VE SIGNED IT, TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!!!

Maybe if they made more then more Mac users would buy. Having one game for Macs isn't enough.

1.) you're choices are ridiculous. You need to think of mass market appeal and need on the mac platform. Madden was a dud. Why would you ask for that again? Tigerwoods? we are getting Links LS 2002 Championship Edition which blows the shit out of Tiger. don't need that. Of the sport games that would have the most appeal it would likely be baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, in that order.

2.) Madden 2000 runs great on my PowerMac 9500 MP/180. all macs could run it, even the rev A iMac. no one bought it because there is such a small number of mac users who apparantly like sports

I think I was one of about twelve people who bought Madden 2000. Bought it at MWNY actually. Right from the booth. Figured they couldn't accidentally tally it up as a PC sale that way.

Fun game. I like sports games though.

Bought a MacAlly iShock to go with it. Why they call it an iShock I don't know. It doesn't shock, rattle or vibrate or anything...

Oh, and it plays fine on a B/W G3 400.

I think before they stopped making sports games for Macs they should've had something besides football. I know I personally wouldn't buy Madden because I don't like football that much but I would've gotten NBA Live or a baseball game. Did they think every Mac user likes football?

Dude, sports games are pretty much the only games I want to play, especially golf sims. I would be the first one to buy an NBA Live 2002 or Links 2002 if it came out for Mac! I have always bought the Links games and once Microsoft started publishing the series exclusively, boom Macs were left in the dust. The latest Links for Mac is Links 2000, which was released for Mac AFTER Links 2001 came out for PC. Now Bold is going to release Links Championship Edition, the latest in the Links series for PCs. That game was available to PC users in September and scheduled for a Mac release shortly after. They said October, then they said late October, then it became November, the late November....I still don't see the game on the shelves or on their site as available to purchase. Apparently I've heard the game won't be out till January now! Now I usually don't wanna buy any software or music but I am going to purchase this game to support the little guys at Destineer that are porting great games to the Mac (Age of Empires II: Gold Edition & MS Flight Simulator 2002 as well). I'm not a heavy gamer, but it's annoying when I can't get Tiger Woods 2K1 or PGA 99 for the Mac. Damn Sierra and damn EA !

The Links title is Links Champinship Edition. It is not 2002, but merely a rebadged version of 2001 with extra courses. Basically, it is still 2001. So basically we are still getting the game over a year late.

    it's 2002 according to destineer.

not like the 2001->2002 change was anything special anyways.

I also bought Madden 2000 at MWNY and I have to say that sports games on the computer are terrible. These aren't point and click type games that are built for the computer. Golf, I can see as a single player game that could work on a computer, but hockey, basketball, baseball, and soccer wouldn't work for me.

You really need 2 or more players to make a sports game exciting. What's the fun of playing alone?

Just get a DC sports pack for $50-$60 which comes with 3 sports games, a controller, built in modem for ONLINE PLAY, and VMU. Plus, in football, you can choose your plays on the Visual Memory Unit which is really cool. That way, the opponent doesn't see what's coming.

The greatest need for the Mac right now is not sports games. Sports games only reign supreme on consoles, and for good reason.

I'd like to see some more MMORPGs like Shadowbane finally come out. That game is going to be sweet.

Fran, you're right that consoles are better for sports games but if PCs have them why shouldn't Macs?

The only sports game that I will ever buy for my Mac is an Ultimate Frisbee game. But that probably won't be produced in my lifetime (I'm not old, by any means). Oh well.

I just have never cared for the hashed and rehashed sports games on anything (PC, Mac, console, or otherwise). Apparently many share my sentiment, considering the lack of titles.

1.) have you not heard of internet play? did you forget computers are hooked up to the internet? Madden 2000 plays just fine using gameranger.

2.) Have you not heard of a gamepad. the gravis gamepad pro is 19 bucks.

3.) I'm sure shadowbande and more MMORPGs would sell in huge quantities on the mac platform
