Who just bought a new Mac?

So, who is the proud owner of a new Mac? Did anyone scoop up one of the new iBooks or iMacs? How about one of the new Combo drive PowerBooks?



I know that the keynote wasn't what most people expected, but I also know that there are probably a lot of new Mac buyers on the boards.



Even though I didn't buy a new Mac (Pismo G3/500 is still good enough for me), I'm definitely interested to hear about what other people purchased.

    I've not bought one yet, but I do plan on getting the superdrive. I'm waiting to pick out a good photo printer. I'm not sure if I should stick with HP or go with Epson.

    There is no thread in Current Hardware dedicated to the topic of "Who just bought a new Mac?"



    I want to hear the stories that people have, why they bought the new computer, how long they've been putting off their purchase, etc.



    There's always more to buying a computer than just clicking the buttons on the AppleStore.

    That covers iMacs and what you're going to do with them, not what Mac you just bought.



    The threads in Current Hardware seem to be limited towards the iMac. What about the new iBook and PowerBook?



    Come on, people must be excited to tell their story about getting a new Mac. Anyone?

    fran441---mine is "Being ASSEMBLED" as of last night!!! of course so are thousands of others and i 'm sure i won't see it for 3 weeks, but no rush...the iMac DV we have is doing great..so no complaints or hurries.....g



    hey fran...i heard you are usually 90% right with specs before expos...how did you do this time??



    pss...for the people who wanted either combos now or all types of iMac (not just superdrive iMacs), didn't SJ say some company bought 1000 new iMacs....not to add gas to the fire, but do you think those 1000 iMacs are superdrive?? i bet they aren't...if i had a company and was getting desktops for my employees they wouldn't play movies and burn dvds....i wonder if anyone can find out what type they ordered....i bet it is lowest model and they got a great price too....g

    Fran441, I'll be picking mine up in late January/early February, here at my local Apple retail store.







    Getting the high-end SuperDrive (convinced myself last night, after briefly toying with the combo drive model).



    I see myself having a digital camcorder and/or camera by autumn, so that iDVD thing might actually be put to use.



    I'll post lots of pics when I get it (box, opening box, packing contents, on my desk, me drooling, etc.).
