150,000 iMacs: Good?

Is this above or below expectations? Does it surpass the rate of previous iMac sales?

    It's quite disappointing, but I expect that sales shall pick up once the new iMacs are actually available in retail stores for the world to see.



    It's only the beginning.

    Disappointing? Let's see, how many iMacs were preordered in 1998? How many Macs does Apple typically ship in the Spring quarter?



    This is encouraging news. It wouldn't have been a press release if it wasn't something worth talking about.

    It's more than the number of pre-orders for the original iMac. As we all (should) know, the original iMac did very well.



    And, just to really cap it off: the pre-order period for the original iMac was three months not three weeks.

    i remember jobs saying that an iMac sold every 15 seconds back when they were introduced.



    AtAT did the math and says that new ones are being sold at about one unit every 12 secs.

    That is very good pre-orders in only three week. And once they hit stores I'm sure it will get even better.
