I got both that issue of Macworld and the new issue of MacAddict with the iMac on it in the mail yesterday.

Very cool. I need to re-subscribe to MW Magazine. My subscription ran out and I havent gotten around to it. I will go to a newstand sometime this week and pick one up.
Is there any good imac coverage or info, pictures etc?

1.) probably won't be on the newstands for a couple weeks. seems like subscribers get them 2-3 weeks early
2.) nothing good in regards to the iMac. typical MW first look stuff. basically just a rehash of the apple press releases. you'll have to wait till the next issue for their review

Damn! Thats funny, they will probably put the imac on the cover two issues in a row.
Like said before, nothing new. I got both mine last week. Good pictures though. Don't go buy it unless you're ignorant on the iMac. It's all stuff I read online a month ago. Macworld does though have a good article on iDVD2 and switching to OS X. MacAddict explains how to upgrade your iBook (RAM, HD, Overclock).
Yep I just went to the library and looked at it. I think I must've been staring at the cover for like 10 minutes.......almost ruined the magazine drooling over the new iMac. It had some pretty good stuff in there I think.
I got my Macaddict magazine in today. Nothing too new about it. Had some cool pictures in it. Then I went on my computer and ordered one. But it'll prolly take awhile to get one. *sigh* But I am happy anyways
Thanks all, I might buy one just to frame it!

I'm not gunna frame them, but I'm thinking of maybe hanging both Macworld and MacAddict's covers and also Time's cover on the wall or something eventually.
MacWorld used to be good.

What is that supposed to mean? I love the mag. Andy Inhantko is a marvelous writer. Their reviews are very complete and well done. It is as fine a computer publication as any, IMHO.

Actually, I found that the last 2 or 3 issues of MacWorld have been much better than they have been in the last few years with some exceptions. I do find the "quick" reviews range from inconsistent to inexplicable, but the tips, the theme reviews of devices and workflow-oriented articles are much more thorough than the used to be. The tips are especially better.
Macintosh is too young to remember when Macworld issues were 200+ pages and printed in a larger format. David Pogue, Stephen Levy, Adrian Mello, et cetera...all gone. I didn't care for Andy Ihnatko when he wrote for MacUser. I don't care for him now. I still subscribe, but it's not what it used to be.
I've been getting MacWorld Mag for a few years now and I've NEVER paid for a subscription.
Here's 3 easy steps to getting it for free
1. Register your Mac - get a short free subscription
2. Register for MacWorld Conference - got 6 issues free
3. Goto step 1.
Actually I think everytime I go to MacWorld I get a 6 month subscription. When that runs out I register one of the new Macs at work and get another 3 issues. It works out nicely.

I think it went downhill when they replaced Guy with Dvorak. I mean, what the hell was the logic behind that?

Very likely to happen. Wouldn't be the first time.

It's no where near as good as it used to be.

True but it has sucked less lately. I still won't renew my sub when it finally expires. Even $6.97 per year is too high.
They're up in the frozen tundra already, anyway. Just went uptown this evening and bought both.
It's something to look at until my iMac get's it's lazy ass over here.
