I found some cool stuff for all who would like do dig deeper in to the history of OSX and how it came about. Its quite interesting to see the mutation that took place between the two OSs, it also made me feel like X is really - seemingly - more NeXT that anything else. What do you guys/gals think?

(the site is kinda frozen in time but fascinating never the less. some cool screenshots of defunct technology are also fun to look at)

Also what do you think about the idea of a floating menu bar? If you dont know what I mean check out the Next screenshots. I guess it could be functional although not in all circumstances. Finally would a third party be able to implement this and would you use it?

That Rhapsody screen shot really makes me wish Apple had stuck with the Classic UI for OS X. Aqua's pretty and all, but OS X should have tried to mimic Classic's UI as closely as possible before going off into new territory. Once the interface was copied (and I don't mean just the look of it - I want the same Finder), then they could move on to different themes (like Aqua) and different behaviors (like column view).

Probably not a popular OS X opinion.
