iPhone6 and iPad Air, both running 8.02

My phone is on ATT, but my iPad is solely wifi.  Twice in the last twelve hours, while at home with wifi, I have received a telephone call not only on my phone, but also on my iPad.  I thought ATT did not carry phone traffic on wifi.  Is this an experiment?
