What ticks me off with my iPad is I now have to mail lists of my shopping habits, location, internet searches, friends, contacts, visa cards into Google because "Apple" apparently won't collect if from me automatically!!! I mean what the hell?!! Where's the automatic malware installations?! For Pete's sake, I can't even manually install malware because I can't even find any for iOS! Apple is doomed! I give them 6 months. Sell the stock now!
The only saving grace will be if they allow two multi-tasking windows on the new iWatch.
How dare you insinuate that I am not a true Fandroid!
I have owned Android devices since the very beginning, ever since they ripped off the first, original iPhone!
I will soon be purchasing my next and latest Android device. It has a lovely band-aid design on the back cover and it comes with a 19 megapixel camera that is sure to take better pictures than the iPhone 6+!
19 megapixels? Pffft!
I have more deactivated cores in my phone than that!
You know, For my next phone I'm getting the exact model phone you just mentioned. Only I'm getting the one with the slightly faster specs that'll be released the week after that one.

That's why I love how Android is "open". It's so open that all that stuff is automated! Like, even M$ isn't that good!

Screw that! There's an even newer model being released 12 days after you buy yours, so I'm just going to wait! And if I wait for another week after that, I just might get it for 50% off, either in the bargain bin or during a fire sale!
DED for once I commend you. Not only did you not insinuate that the performance of the Shield was equivalent to that of the Nexus 9 but you even threw in some early benchmarks from it.

Man, I just go around in dumpsters behind Verizon and grab last weeks phones. Then I loads a custom softwares on them, and I wait until all my passwords get stolen and my credit cards are hacked! So much fun, life is great.

Probably the same people that will tell you they never have unjustified tab reloads in Safari.
This iPad rev so blows the competition out of the water that I'd rather see this iPad put up against Mac Book Airs and other laptops. Especially in the context of Intels integrated GPU's.
Since the Nexus 9 with 16GB WiFi is $399 and a 16gb WiFi iPad Air 2 is $499, I would expect the performance of the Nexus 9 to be lower. The performance of the Nexus 9 seems to be fairly on par with the original iPad Air, which is the same $399 price.

I still have tab reloads with my Air, but no where near as many with iOS8 as I did with 7. That being said, I do have an family history app that chokes with 1GB RAM, 2GB would help it nicely, I believe.
I have to say that when I read that your family history causes an iPad to choke, I figured (as a developer) that could be caused by an infinite loop. Now I have the song, "I'm my own grandpa" stuck in my head!

I've been running the betas for a long time and frankly the overall better performance of a Safari should be reason enough to upgrade.

This is the other thing that the focus on Safari tab reloads did to the conversation, it undervalued what more RAM makes possible. 2GB is actually a lot for iPad apps because a good portion of the 1GB machines had ram allocated to other things. This extra RAM should spur the growth of a new generation of apps.
I'm not sure what's funnier.. Having another "Crapple" iPad mop the floor AGAIN with the Android trash, or the bed-wetting Fandroids that will come out from their mommy's basements and whine about how these numbers MUST be wrong...

Tell me about it! I love my Tegra that never gets used because our apps don't need all that power!
I'm hearing ya!
My phone is the fastest, most powerful one that I leave sitting in my bedside drawer.
It's so cool.
Speaking of cool, I gotta go. I'm gonna go install a customer ROM from the latest Samsung refrigerator and see if it will make my phone any cooler.
Catch you both later on 4chan!

Benchmarks are the l33t, man!

I would reckon it would fit in as an entry level in terms of performance. I can't find the A8X on Geekbench browser, but the fastest Macbook Airs are still faster than the iPad 2. http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/compare/1029290?baseline=604439
Big farking deal.
That was the subject of the entire article...
BFD, indeed.
Sometimes reading comments is even more interesting than reading the article!

As Doctor Frankenstein once said, "It's arrive!!!":
F*ck this thing is quick.
Really, REALLY smooth and quick!
Apple ][ is correct. This is no small upgrade.

Great machine.
