Screensavers OSX Plug
I don't know if this is old news or what, but it caught my ear this evening...
On the Screensavers on TechTV tonight, this guy calls in with a printer question. He says he just bought a new LCD iMac after making a 8 hour round trip drive to the Mall of America. He replaced his main Windows XP machine with the iMac, because he wanted to use OSX for so long.
Leo (Laporte?) jumps in saying "Me to! I abandoned Windows XP for Mac OSX, it is just an amazing operating system."
!!!!
I knew Leo had some Macs, he's mentioned having a Cube with LCD, and an Apple laptop with Airport (don't know if it's an i or TiBook), but saying that he's abandoned XP? Damn, that's pretty cool to see. That can only help the cause - the show has quite a large audience.
Anyway, just a little thing I noticed tonight and thought I'd share...

If you like to see Mac's in use almost exlusively you should start watching AudioFile. THey are everywhewre,
Over the past 1 to 1-1/2 years, though, Techtv in general and The Screensavers in particular have become much more Mac-friendly. They do a heck of a lot more to promote Apple on their channel than Chiat/Day does on any other.

Edit-didn't mean to parrot Onlooker, he replied while I typed mine up!

"Joe wants to know how to get digital video into his computer."
To which he later said "Well, I would tell him to get a Mac, but that's just me."
Of course he got a few cat calls over the statement... Patrick asked him how many Macs he owned, and he admitted "none".
But he did say he's getting one soon - a G5 - when it comes out.
Nice to see alot of Mac talk on that show - it's getting kind of cool.
by the way please check out and join my forums...

Too bad the PC users that listen to Leo and try out a mac will be dissapointed to find that OS X is as slow as a Yugo going up hill through the snow.

That really depends on what they are using OS X for
EXACLTY!!!!
I use OS X on an iBook 500 (DualUSB) and it runs fine, nothing drags on for hours, or any of that crap you guys keep rehashing, I work for HOURS on end in OS X as a graphic designer and I have YET to hit a road block.
