Apple Teacher Institute (UK)

I've just arrived back from 4 days at the first ATI held in the Uk. At last Apple is getting its act together and looking serious about making inroads into education once again. It was held at Cheltenham College where they have a superb airport network and there was hardly a cable in sight all week.

Apple reps were there most of the time (both from the UK and Europe, over to investigate possibly holding their own ). Issues discussed were how to promote DV in schools and how the Mac is the obvious platform for it with iMovie. Also, interestingly, the number of districts where IT departments are still coming up with the old "Macs and PCs on one network causes trouble" line. Cheltenham College was proof that this isn't the case as pupils there regularly bring PC laptops and use them on the network. More of these to help spread the word please, Apple!
