2009 13" MacBook Pro w/SSD

I have put a Samsung EVO 840 SSD in my 13" MacBook Pro (2009). I installed maverick, computer can't boot from the drive. Any suggestions?

    How did you install Mavericks? If you cloned it, check that you formatted the SSD as GUID partition map in Disk Utility. Does the drive appear as a boot option when you hold down alt/option at boot?

    I went to an Apple Store to trouble shoot and found out that the new drive is defective.
    Hopefully the store where I bought it will replace it without any hassle.
