Sync issues after turning on Photo Library Beta

Hello and Happy New Year to those for whom it is a New Year!

I've had success turning this beta on with another iCloud account / device but on this most recent occasion some odd things have happened.

Sequence of events:

1) Full ipad backup to iTunes on a Windows PC

2) Remove all photo's via the standard image downloader in Windows for giddy camera's

3) Turn on iCloud Photo Library Beta in the iPad settings

Even though the iPad was completely blank of photos and videos it reports 196 photos and 8 videos in the cloud... the iPad still has none... and iCloud Photo app (Beta) also sees none.

If I then take a photo the new photo is visible on the iPad and is uploaded to iCloud and visible in the iCloud Photo Beta app.  But the other 196 + 8 are still not visible.  Also note the 196 is incremented to 197!!

Next issue is... on installing the Windows iCloud app it proceeded to download 285 photos in the My Photo Stream!!!   And none of the test photos taken after appear on the PC at all.

Note that there are no other devices other than the iPad and Windows PC associated with this account.

To try to sort this I have tried...

1) Deleting the 285 photos from the Windows PC.  They come back... !?

2) Several combinations of rebooting the iPad, switching off iCloud Photos, switching off My Photo Stream, rebooting again etc etc.

...however each time I turn the Beta switch back on again it returns to the same state.  285 My Photo Stream in Windows and 196 (or more if I've taken a test photo etc) counted in the Photo app on the iPad but not visible anywhere else other than the test photo's.

Willing to try anything as all the photo's are backed up several times.

I fear there is a blockage between what was My Photo Stream and the new Library Beta but that doesn't explain why there is a big difference between the 196 and the 285 and why I cannot reset the whole thing by starting again.

Help!

    Hey,

    Happy new to you!

For your questions,  don't be set, i think you should use a Photo recovery software for your iPad, the photo lost is recoverable, for it is not erased totally it is hidden on your hard driver. So using a recovery tool can help you find them back easily.

    Just have a try!

    Good luck!

Wow MacGizmo thats really useful I didn't know Beta tests were inherent with issues.  Every day is a learning experience!

However I wasn't trying to work out 'why'.  Thats a little obvious!

Has anyone had any similar experiences, or know how to feedback to Apple re the Beta experiences.  Or managed to reset their sync maybe?

    Thanks all.
