I've always wondered why Apple doesn't keep the Apple Events icon on the Apple TV all the time but removes it within a few weeks? Does anyone know why?

Looking forward to the event although I will probably skip it and wait till the 2nd gen. In the pictures it looks kinda thick, I'll have to see it in person.

Because you can always watch it later on their website. No need to take a icon place for something people rarely watch after the first week.

Let's do price prediction. Mine will be:

    $349, $449 and $999-$1499

You could always "hide" the icon though.

No way on earth the gold will be $1499 unless its plated gold

Even with 2 oz of gold is used to make the watch which is not (Rolex only use 1.7 oz for entire watch including the bracelet), it shouldn't cost that much for $900/oz 18k gold. My belief is <$1500.

So in other words you want Apple to sell the gold watch at Amazon margins?  Hell no.

    Gold Rolex watches are $30k

Even POS chinese gold watches are $5k

Sog35, I'm looking at 40% margin even with the BOM. So $900 gold used will be <$1250 versus aluminum. I still stick to <$1500. I would love it for under $1000 if only 1/2 oz of gold is used and I believe it may be just that much based on Apple gold mix for 18k (with ceramic to increase volume instead of copper or silver)

    No sound on the Livestream.

Well done, Apple. Another clusterfuck, as usual.

    Medical research, Cool!

When I first saw the Apple watch with constant heart rate monitoring, I immediately wondered what would be discovered if these logs were analyzed and correlated with various heart conditions. I think we are moving rapidly to a world where our iPhones can give early warning of problems.

Oh, shut the **** up. It's working perfectly. Fucking Troll. Sad you don't have the decency to ban yourself from this thread at least, instead of insisting on shitting in it.

30 minutes in to the keynote and still no sound.

No wonder Apple haven't brought a tv out; they need to learn how to produce sound first.
