iMovie cutting the duration of my video

I had to import a video that was required to be exactly 20 minutes long, no more no less. Every time I import my video onto iMovie it cuts two seconds off. It's so silly I know, but I will fail if I do not submit EXACTLY 20 minutes. How can I stop iMovie from cutting my video?

    You could convert it in another program first like Quicktime so that iMovie isn't converting it on import. I think iMovie likes to work in MP4 format. It shouldn't convert it once you import that.

    Another thing you can do is add 2 seconds of blank footage to the clip like black at the start/end.
