mail.plist vs. mail-shared.plist in Yosemite Mail
Hi,
My wife and I each have an account on our iMac running Yosemite. I am looking at Library/Preferences under both our home folders and I see something odd that I would like some clarification on.
Under my ~/Library/Preferences, I see "com.apple.mail.plist" and also "com.apple.mail-shared.plist".
Under my wife's ~/Library/Preferences, I see "com.apple.mail-shared.plist", but I do not see a "com.apple.mail.plist".
When I open the plist files in Prefs Setter, the mail.plist says it's associated with Mail, but the mail-shared.plist says there's no application associated with it.
My issue is that I am doing a nuke-and-pave reinstall of Yosemite due to various issues and I do not want to do a Super-Duper (or a Time Machine) restore, I want to copy the Library/Mail folders and the preferences files from the backup drive to the iMac drive after reinstallation.
Would the absence of a mail.plist from my wife's library cause issues? I was under the impression that all accounts would have their own mail.plist files, and the lack of one in my wife's Library worries me.
Google has not been of any help at all. So, any assistance any of you can provide will be gratefully accepted.
Thanks and cheers
