first mac

im gonna be buying a new computer in the next few months and i decided on getting an apple. i use mostly photoshop, use the internet, and listen to music and i have decided between the ibook and the imac. im wondering if the ibook can handle photoshop? and which one would be a good choice for me. thanks

    Unless you need portability, go for the iMac.

    The ibook will handle Photoshop fine, but not great. Especially if you use OS X. I have an iBook and love it (I use Photoshop), but if you do a lot in Photoshop, I'd get an iMac. That's what I'll be doing in a few months. You'll soon see that there is a lot more stuff you'll want to do (like burn DVDs) and to do them you'll need a computer more powerful than what the iBook has to offer.

    If you use Photoshop frequently, a G4 makes a world of difference. I have a G3 and a G4 computer so i know. Wait a couple months if you can and get the new PowerBook that should come out. Or if price is important, get an old PowerBook in a couple months (the now current model).
