Screen saver switch back from iPhoto file to NatGeo file

I am having a heck of a time with my screen saver on the most recent OSX.  I keep switching the screen saver to source pictures from an iPhoto file.  It works once (I tested it by both hot corner and allowing it to time out), but with subsequent uses, it automatically  switches back to the NatGeo picture file until I manually correct it back to the iPhoto file.  What am I missing?  What am I doing wrong?
