is "X" the new "Power"?
yeah, i know, the X prefix has only been attached to the server unit so far, but maybe that's only the beginning?
i can totally see Apple's marketing team trying to tie the "e" to education, the "i" to consumers (okay, the internet... whatever), and the X to the pro's.
so will we be seeing the XMac?
the XBook?
it would seem, if they have a massive change in mind for the tower cases, now might be the time to move to a new name or prefix as well.
of course, the only ones who know for sure are hidden depp in the bunkers below cupertino.

X will not replace Power.
I think that's what I don't like about the name "XServe". It's a big, frickin' X! That's not right.
Compare:
xServe
XServe
Compare:
xServe
XServe

Of course, since you're making an issue of which way it is capitalized, you should at least include the correct way.
Xserve.

But, Internet Pod...? Internet DVD...? Internet Tunes...? well.. there ARE internet streams... Internet Photo...? that's a stretch... I guess because you can upload to a website... but it's really not an internet app.
And why aren't other things "i"Apps...? Why isn't it iMail...? They break their own stride with the naming convention(s). To be honest... the whole "i"-thing is getting long in the tooth. But, hey... who am I...? They'll name it what they want, and we'll end up liking it either way...
peace...

Is it pronounced "ecks"-serve or "ten"-serve?
OS X (pronounced "ten") is a capital X. If it is pronounced "ecks"-serve, it seems it should be written "xServe" to remain consistent with iMac, eMac, etc.

Oh, man! It's even worse than I thought!
