How to get $$$ for yesterday's Mac?

IF Apple is releasing some blazing new CPU concoction this summer, I'd like to be able to sell off my dual-gigger to apply money towards whatever it is exactly that I may be drooling over then. My question is, where can I get the most money for it? Do any of you out there manage to upgrade every speed bump we get? Is it better to sell a little early, say a month before mwny, to avoid a steep loss of value?

Not that I don't appreciate my 2 * gig - it has served me well - I'm just not sure that I'll be this confident with it come July.

G4 = , but G4 = $$$$ 4 !cpu =

    Enjoy your current system and don't concern yourself with what doesn't exist. If Apple were to release a G5-based system, I'm pretty sure we'd all find out well in advance of any product launch.

    Apple. Think Like a Dog.

    Just be happy with what you have. Don't you know that as soon as you take your computer out of its box its outdated? This is even more true with Pentium based machines. If I were you I'd just upgrade my RAM and enjoy owning a dual gigger. You should wait as long as possible before buying another machine.

    Ok since nobody else will help you, eBay. People pay WAY too much for macs on ebay. I sold a toilet seat iBook the day before the white ones came out for $1950 and it was standard config + AirPort! Have the auction end about a week or 2 before macworld and you'll get a nice chunck of change back.

    I made a killing selling my old mac on eBay, and I would be happy to share my secrets with a fellow AIer.

    1) Pull out all your third party cards, and unhook the mobo from the rest of the computer. Remove the mobo.

    2) Mask connectors, slots, and IC's with masking tape.

    3) Apply red spray paint liberally to the motherboard.

    4) Reinstall mobo in case, take picture, sell it on eBay as a seKret Apple G5 prototype.

    good luck!
