Well, we’re specifically discussing the west and its falling birthrates. It makes sense to discuss western production.
I hope he realizes that Africa’s birthrates are so high only because we give them food aid (which is a waste of our money and the perpetuation of their poverty). If he really believes that overpopulation exists, he should be screaming for the end of all food aid. But that would force him to acknowledge that we CAN actually feed everyone.
End food aid, save our money and food, save THEM from poverty.
And yet that’s not a result of not producing enough food. It’s not even a result of not having enough where it needs to be. It’s a result of dictatorial hoarding of the resources. End the food aid and you’ll see the producers be the consumers.

Whether it is a case of lack of will or lack of capabilities, the population is not being fed, so more population is only going to exaserbate the famine issues the world's poor are already experiencing. It is a quality of life and proper nutrition problem not the technical definition of X number of calories in food production divided by the number of people on the planet.

How do you think all these women are popping out babies if they’re not being fed? They’re being fed without work as a counterbalance.

I'm not going to argue with you about the relative merits of feeding or not feeding the poor from an ethical standpoint.
I'm just expressing the opinion that the world is already overpopulated. Scientifically speaking it has been determined by experts that the Earth could sustain roughly 10 billion people if all arable land was converted to growing grain to feed humans and none for livestock. The population is expected to reach that level by 2100.
If everyone were omnivores and had a diet such as we consider normal in the US, the planet could only support approximately 2.5 billion people. So you see, at our current world population of 7 billion, the developed nations are already forcing more than half the people on the planet to subsist on a diet inferior to their own.
Currious thing about humans enterprise controlling the weather. In less than 10 years aerosol propellants became popular they along with freon used in automobile air conditioning were being accused of causing the next ice age.
Next man's use of gasoline and coal was being accused of causing global warming.
Whoever can predict what an enerprising individual will invent will also know the next invention to cause our weather to go out of wack.
How ever since the early 2000 the weather seems to be on hold and not a single invention has been linked to the cause.

The only matter of ethics would regard stopping food aid to save them from destruction.

Last I read it was 40. And the number is always increasing due to advancement in technology.

Again, we’re not overpopulated.

As of July 30, 2015 the world's human population is estimated to be 7.26 billion by the United States Census Bureau,[6] and over 7 billion by the United Nations.[7][8][9] Most contemporary estimates for the carrying capacity of the Earth under existing conditions are between 4 billion and 16 billion. Depending on which estimate is used, human overpopulation may or may not have already occurred. Nevertheless, the rapid recent increase in human population is causing some concern. The population is expected to reach between 8 and 10.5 billion between the year 2040[10][11] and 2050.[12] In May 2011, the United Nations increased the medium variant projections to 9.3 billion for 2050 and 10.1 billion for 2100.
The food resources are only one aspect of the consequences of overpopulation. There is also shelter, fresh water and sanitation issues. Just take a look at India if you want to know what it might look like. You think we have a homeless problem in the US inner cities now...you haven't seen nothin' yet.
Personally, I think Tim needs to seriously consider moving Apple HQ out of the US, just like Boeing is now threatening to do (for different reasons).
Just release a public letter that says Apple will not comply with anything that is not Constitutional. And then don’t comply. In fact, expose everything they’re already complying with and then stop that, as well.
There’s nothing that any court would do against Apple in that regard, and the executive branch bringing any physical power to bear against a company that has explicitly stated this would be suicide for them.
Comments
Let’s see if I have straight what’s coming to a head all at once.
US student loan bubble (growing since the ‘70s–never even slowed across the last recession)
US car loan bubble (with subprime mortgages exposed, subprime car loans had to be the fallback)
US home ownership at an all time low, rent at an all time high
US private 401ks may be seized by the government
US cap goods and durables are mirroring the last two recessions
Eurozone collapse and end of the Euro
EU collapse
Chinese housing market
Chinese stock market
Oh, and bail-ins (your balance can be erased to help pay for a bankrupt bank) are legal in the US, UK, Eurozone, Canada, and I think Australia.
September will be fun.

Literally no downside.

I've heard that Africa has a massive problem with productive jobs being unfilled.

Incidentally, Apple just got a massive shitstorm coming their way, which is really, really bad for privacy and security:

You may disagree with the author's opinion, but do you disagree with the potential legal problem?
Everything in the source article is hypothetical, so potentially it's a bad legal problem, but what are the odds that it ever sees the light of day.

But surely it's as good as a done deal. A blogger blogging about someone else's blog says so.
Now that you put it that way I'm totally convinced that Apple is doomed.

If it's negative and it involves Apple, chances are better than 95%.
