pages won't close

I am currently using the new version of Pages on my computer.  I love using it but it will not close any of the documents that I have used.  When I first open Pages, it opens everything that I have done in pages.  Now it is to the point where I have tons of pages open on my screen.  How can I get these to close without have to force quit?

    It's a feature of the operating system, you can turn it off in system preferences by selecting the option to close windows:

    There might be another option in the Pages preferences but try the system one.

    Delete it and use Office 2016. Pages and Numbers are horrible.
