Good man, welcome to the family

As for the eMac, well, you can always tell her to get some nail polish and have fun with it.

I want to paint a new eMac black. matte black. Perhaps jet black. Maybe even black with paint that's transparent in roomlight, but glows green in UV or sunlight

If she was more concerned about appearances than outright performance (although a 400MHz G3 is still pretty nice, IMO), she would probably be able to find a lime or strawberry iMac DV for really cheap these days.

It'll have USB, Firewire, Ethernet, modem, slot-loading CD-ROM/DVD, OS X capable, etc. And if she's not a graphics person or otherwise really pushing the power and all, I'm sure the 400MHz G3 would be fine. My friend has my tangerine iMac DV and she writes, uses iTunes, Microsoft Office v.X, Explorer, etc. (in other words, basic everyday non-graphics usage) and she LOVES it.

Those lime iMac DV models from a couple of years ago were very nice looking. Were I not such an orange freak, that would've been my choice of color.

    Here you go:

Couldn't find an strawberry DV iMacs, but there were a couple of older (333MHz) tray-loading models. Do a search at eBay for "strawberry iMac" or "pink iMac".
