Will Apple upgrade the 6S screen resolution to at least HD to that of the Plus flagship?
you can't see the pixels on the 6, why drain battery for something that offers no benefit? I have never understood the lack of a system view on this matter.
Goes to show that big screen makes iPhones more usable.
But there is also a sweet spot. The 6 Plus isn't it, at least in according to this survey.
If this survey only represents USA buyers, then you're right... however, there are some indications that in Asia, the mix may lean more toward the 6 Plus.
I think it's only a matter of time until the ?Watch completely replaces the iPhone for those who don't need to look at a large screen, and are happy dictating everything via Siri. Until that time, I'm going to have to carry a phone in my pants, and I would just as soon that phone be as small as possible.
I'm surprised only 10% for 6 Plus. I bought the 6 Plus has happy I did. Using a smaller model would seem just weird.
This is an installed base estimate, not what was sold last year. If the 6 is at 30% and 6+ is at 9%, then that is very close to the Plus being 25% of iPhone 6 series units sold, which aligns with most of the estimates I read. Also, as noted above, with this being a U.S. survey, the global numbers may still be higher overall.
It might be popular in adoption rate, but I'm certainly not happy with my iPhone 6. I like the tech inside it (having come from an iPhone 4) but everything else I detest.
Gee what a surprise only 10% of the phone in use are the biggest display. I said this before and I gave credit to Google's own developer data on screen size back this up, most users do not want the huge display it a small group of people. But you had all these people claiming the bigger display is what everyone wants. I'll give the 4.7" is a good size and better then the 4" that was on the 5, but anything over 5" is too big for most people.
I see a few from time to time and I travel lots so it not like I only seeing local people and I see only a small % of large screen both Apple or any other company. Having a bigger display is nice but a pain to deal with on a daily bases
I see a lot of 6 very few 6plus. For instance I was out
For diners last Saturday at YAMATOS (Japanese steakhouse)
and out of the 10 people on the table I could see that's there were five iPhone 6 (including mine),
two 5 or 5s and I also saw one 4 or 4s and one android. We were all tourist, it wasn't local.
This proves nothing. In Asia the 6+ is way more popular then the US where this poll was taken.
Ridiculous that people like you think everyone should use the exact same phone as you. And how do you know a big screen is a pain to deal with? You dont even own a 6+ so STFU. I've owned the 6+ for almost a year and its the best piece of tech I've ever purchased.
Well congratu-effing-lations you're one of the 10%ers he referenced in his post. The data is the data, and you can't argue it.
If Apple don't announce a new 4" tomorrow - and I doubt they will - I'm going from 6 back to 5S. It has Touch ID and will let me use Apple Pay on Apple Watch so I'll be happy with that. iPhone 6 is hurting my hands too much.
I'd be very happy with the 6s instead of the 6s Plus, but battery life is very important and I don't like the battery cases or carrying around any accessories. I just want my phone, and for that reason, I'm replacing my 6 Plus with the new Plus.

Sog,
Just because you and 10% of the world find value in it does not mean it what the majority wants or needs. Yes the poll was US, but Google numbers are global, they share screen sizes with thier developer community so they have an idea what screen sizes are the most popular since they have this data when people register their phones. Their data even shows that larger than 5" is in the less than 15% share. Yeah when your talking about 500M phones in operation 50M is alot of phones unless your loosing money selling them like Samsung does. I donot own a 6+ but that does not mean I have not used a larger phone. I player around with the Samsung larger phones since I worked with a few people who prefer them. Again not protactial for what I use a phone for and the fact that 90% of the population chooses smaller phones is done for various reasons one of which is bigger is not aways better.
Unlike most people on this board I actually have experience with lots of various phones and products. So I tend to speak from experience as well as observations. Show how you think 10% mean more than 10%, if bigger than 5" was universally the same to all people at the same time then more people would own them. Prior to having bigger phones on the market, everyone was saying that is what everyone wanted, but the purchase behavior does not back it up. One thing I learned in a marketing class which was never trust what people say, watch their behaviors such as what they buy that say more than anything else. This is why Steve never trusted market surveys or focus groups since they will tell you want they think they want verses what they really need. The mass public are very poor at know what works well.
I am still of the belief apple did the 6+ to take the wind out of Samsung sails, the larger phone were fueling its business and we saw what happen when the small 10% went to Apple. Great marketing strategy on Apple part.

I picked up an iPhone 6 for my wife last month. Our home now have all the 10 models! And now Apple's going to release 2 more....damn!
Apple is unaffordable
