Minor quibble. But they do this a lot. Writing an article (<a href="http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1105-938652.html"; target="_blank">"Your PC is under Attack"</a>) and then design a graphic illustrating the tactics used...using IE for the Mac...

For a site that ignores the Mac as a platform this irks me sometimes. And has anyone had this "attack" yet on a Mac? I sure haven't... <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

The real question is "Why don't they call Microsoft to task for this?"

IE has 90 percent Marketshare yet Microsoft has done ANYTHING but protect it's users. If I don't clear out my Hotmail it's jam packed with SPAM...there are holes galore in the OS and microsoft could easily add features to offer more control over the Browsing experience yet they do nothing. IE is stagnant and IE 6 may have been called IE 5.56 as it's a pathetic upgrade.

I'm disgusted with the whiny PC Mags that run articles like this yet never call out the real culprit which is Microsoft. They have no problems cramming their proprietary crap down our collective throats when they have an agenda to fulfill...why does our protection come last?

Or maybe M$'s new "<a href="http://www.theregus.com/content/4/25340.html"; target="_blank">Palladium</a>" will solve all the Microdroid's problems...

Maybe it's just the ZDNet graphics department do this on purpose (damn sure they all use Macs)...just to snub the Microserfs... <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

Puhleeze. Anyone who trusts Micoslop for Security is asking for trouble. Digital Right Management. I love the way Microsoft panders to Entertainment industry and then promotes this as some feature for consumers. My Mother's XP puter screws up 15% of the apps being accessed by the "Guest" accnt. I've had enough of Microslops "Right Management" already.

I hate to say it but I honestly think Microsoft will not have half the strength that they currently enjoy in 10yrs. I see their failures rising with XBox and UltimateTV.

I wish I could believe that, but M$ seems to be as strong as ever even with pure crap being pumped outta Redmond, save the Mac BU (How long till a AI'er slams me for hating M$, and how dumb and immature I am for not accepting M$'s dominance over me?).

As for ZDNet, hey the more mac's I see the happier I am. Can't wait to se a M$ ad with a Mac GUI hidden in there somewhere.

Yes, I too am delighted every time I see a Mac. Perhaps Macs only have a 5% market share, but somehow every time I see a computer in the newspaper comic pages either the case is an iMac or the interface on screen has a row of vertical icons with a trashcan at the bottom on the right hand side of the screen, as in OS 9. Anytime I watch MuchMusic (Canadian MTV) the computers are Macs. In advertisments for everything from insurance and online trading to breakfast cereals, the computers people use are macs. Though the Apple is often painted out, the wide screen of the TiBook, the middle curve of the rubber and plastic on the back of a black PowerBook, and especially the design of the original iBooks, all are unmistakeable. Telus advertisements use Mac equipment exclusively. Animated Dilbert has all the engineers using Macintosh interfaces, even though the boxes are beige so as not to undermine the bleak corporate motif of Dilbert's company. Then consider movies... they generally use Apple hardware but a bizarre fictional OS designed on the spot.

5% market-share, maybe, but a solid majority of screen time.
