Preview question
Hi. I just created a new resume in Pages (the latest version). The font I used is Lucinda Grand. I exported the resume as a PDF file.
When I view that PDF in Preview, the letters don't look crisp, they look slightly fuzzy. They also look slightly fuzzy when I view the PDF in Safari.
However, when I view a preview of the document in the Finder by selecting the document and hitting the space bar, the document looks just fine.
I also emailed the resume to a recruiter. I use Mail. When I select the attachment in Mail and then hit the space bar for a preview, it looks fine in that instance too.
I also own a program called PDF Pen and when I open the PDF in PDF Pen, the PDF looks fine as well.
So I'm confused why the document is looking worse in Preview and Safari.
I created the PDF in two separate ways: I used Export to PDF in Pages to create the PDF document and I also created a PDF document by using Print and then Save as PDF.
I'm concerned about the fuzzy font in Preview because now I'm not sure what the PDF will look like to the people I need to send it to.
I don't remember having this problem with Preview before.
Thanks!

Don't know if this is still an issue for you, but here's an explanation if that helps:
I had the same issue creating a document from Word by printing as PDF. In Preview, it looked fuzzy. After some research, I signed up for a month trial of Adobe Acrobat, wondering if creating the PDF in that or having control over more settings would help.
I discovered that no matter how clear a PDF is, it will look fuzzy in Preview. I created a PDF with Acrobat, and it still looked fuzzy in Preview. But documents just created with the Mac "Save as PDF" print function looked fine in Acrobat. Printing from Acrobat and Preview both resulted in the crisp document I expected, whether the document was created with Acrobat or the native. "Save as PDF" print function.
Knowing that, I stopped digging, so someone with more knowledge on this can chime in. My conclusion is that Preview is not a great application for viewing PDFs, but printing from Preview works just fine (at least for me).
