People Please !

Must we keep blabbering on about those damb PC'S. I came to this board

to read and discuss apple related topics. All i read most of the time is

constant dribble about PC's-Mgz & PC's. I would think that being apple

users there be more sopistication in topics of discusion.

Instead some of these so-called mac-addicts crap all over the company and the products they produce. How can you people keep comparing Mac's To Pc's. Every time I read that apple is" so behind the times with there pruducts" it makes want to vomit. Its like comparing apple to freakin oranges people. Yes X86 manufacturers make fast computers

with lots of memory and all the lastest and greatest implementations,

(so freakin what) most of the time its the bleeding edge not the leading edge.

In my opinion Apple will always have an upper hand over PC hardware and software manufacturers, for the simple but less obvious reason that Apples hardware and OS is made inhouse. Take a look at PC's (breifly) One company make the OS, several other companys make the

hardware, theres a bottleneck for ya. Go and ask any system designer or engineer if it makes a difference weather they worked at the same location as the hardware developers.

Don't ya think if Apple hasn't produce any new Powermacs in the last three years that theve been working on a new product that will be completly up to date with current demands of professional users.

Just because a (NEW) so-called standard has been adopted by one

company and has used it for so-lond does'nt mean Apple needs to adopt

it right away. Mac's are not Lego's people. You can't just throw it

in there without the proper test and development stages.

Finally to those who love flaping there gums about PC's and there mightyness why don't you go jump on there band wagon and leave

this Sophisticated Apple board to those who what to discuss actual

topics of interest.

You see, most of us were diehard, loyal, etc, Mac fans a year or two ago. Times change, and when even Apple is too afraid to do "bakeoffs" then it is our job as people that care about what happens to our company to comment on this. Many people use Macs because they have historically been faster at "pro" applications, not so much anymore. We must question our loyalty when things get out of hand. 'Nuff said.

Personally, I use Macs because of the OS's superiority and Hardware quality. But that's my personal preference and opinion...

As far as loyalty, oh please get real. You don't use Macs because you are "loyal" to Apple. You use Macs because you prefer the Mac.

But sure, I would like to see Apple crush the competition speed wise. Problem is, Apple's not in control of that. But Steve Jobs is a smart and resourcefully Executive. He knows what's up.

My guess is that he has foreseen this 2 years ago and has been busy working on a solution. If I where him, I would give Moto the boot and find someone who's on the ball. I have a feeling we may be in for a surprise.

From the same thread that was in Current Hardware...

Maybe because some of us like the OS, but we know that the hardware isn't the best it could be. Come on man, face it, for some things PCs are just superior right now.

I use my Mac because it is a Mac (IT WORKS). If I wanted pure speed and no functionality I would have stayed with a wintel machine, straight up. So far I notice no difference between my old 1ghz p3 and my 700mhz g3 so I am happy.

Some of us actually use and enjoy both platforms. I should hope that this board is not JUST for zealots and trolls. Nothing is black and white unless you're incredibly jaded. So, grow up dambit!

That, my Mac faithful friend, is the problem. Why would you compare the best and newest consumer Mac portable to a one to two year out of date PC portable? For the price of a 700MHz iBook, you get a 1.6 or 1.7GHz P4M with all the trimmings. Such PCs compare better to the PB than the iB.

If you are talking about desktops, then the comparison is even worse. When you say that your 700MHz G3 is the same as a PIII 1GHz, you make a stronger indictment against the Mac than any PC devotee could.

Any PC user knows that the PIII 1GHz is long dead at almost any price, in almost any form. While the 700MHz G3 is very much alive in the Mac universe and is considered current technology.

To the original thread starter, you have no right to be upset with people who compare Macs and PCs. If you want to be upset with anyone over that, you should redirect your angst towards SJ. He is the one who is always comparing the two platforms and declaring the Mac to be faster. Now he has launched the switch ads, practically begging potential switchers to compare.

With product names like ?PowerMac? and ?PowerBook?, One cannot help but look at the ?Power? aspect of the computer and compare it to the offerings of companies with far less pretentious naming schemes. Don?t get mad at those who respond to a challenge. Apple is the one who laid down the gauntlet.

Both you and Apple need to learn the meaning of this: ?If you sow the wind, you reap the world wind.? Perhaps you would be happier at a less ?sophisticated? Apple board.
