Apple Stores simulcasting MWNY keynote (CONFIRMED!!!)

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Just wanted to give a head's up to those of you lucky enough to be near an Apple retail store.

Just called the one here in San Diego and they're going to carry the keynote live on the big screen in the back of the store (went to see the one in January at MWSF at my local store...very cool!).

Anyway, those of us on the West Coast have to get there at 6am, but I'm going to go.

Don't know about the other stores, but the San Diego one isn't requiring and invite card (like in January). Probably has something to do with it being so ungodly early that West Coast Apple Stores aren't expecting huge throngs of people?

Anyway, guy said doors open at 5:45.

Pass it on...

    You lucky bastard.

Damn man, sometimes I wish I lived down there...

Ah well, TechTV will have to do I guess. BTW, congrats on a thread with CONFIRMED in it, that actually contains TRUTH!! Amazing. Most people don't seem to be able to do that...

Seeing the Keynote in an Apple Store - damn that would be cool.

I usually go to the regional HQ to watch the keynote, but I haven't yet received an invitation to come see it there. I'll call them tomorrow and get onto the list.

Going to the one in January was pretty cool. I showed up quite early and was the second person in line (I know: GEEK!).

But within an hour, the line stretched down the mall a bit, and lots of people had PowerBooks and iBooks and were able to access the Internet through the Apple Store's AirPort network.

One guy went strolling around to find coffee and a newspaper and pretty much left me with his TiBook and cool-ass lawn chair for almost 25 minutes!

Now THAT'S trust. Or simply feeling kinship and brotherhood with a fellow Mac user.

Once we all went in, it was a pretty cool, upbeat atmosphere. Everyone was having a good time, they handed out beverages and people crammed in on benches and the floor and clapped (or groaned) during the keynote, in all the appropriate places.

Next best thing to being there, I guess. There were about 150 of us, give or take.

I'm not going to a store. I wont be watching TechTV, and I won't be viewing the webcast either.

I'll be sitting right there in the back of the Javits Convention Center auditiorium. It should be fun.
