hello,

i still dont see any Like/Dislike vote counts on my own posts. is this by some weird design?

for example, here is a post that is not me:

and here is my post:

...note the lack of Like/Dislike tallies.

That’s just to keep you from getting a swell head.  ;)

I do like the anonymous up/down, at least.

@jSnively replied to that question in the feedback thread some time ago, mentioning that it might be a bug, but it was apparently never addressed.

so is this same behavior happening for you other users? if so and if for this long, then it's not a bug.

it seems incredibly odd. as odd as the removal of the source-post link on replies.

im guessing this dev team is entirely different than prior, because they're removing solutions to use cases they don't even seem to understand.

Yup, same for everyone AFAIK. If you're all that curious which of your posts were liked/disliked go to your profile.

True, but it looks like you still can't see numbers by post - just lists of posts under the likes and dislikes categories.

Correct. (BTW I just "liked this one and someone else did too. Court is 2. )

OK. Consistent but invisible. Another apparent bug - if you click on the likes or dislikes total on your profile page, the resulting page shows the threads, and also a number of additional (blank) page links (1, 2, 3, etc.) that seems to equal the number of listed threads on the first page.

The new system with its inability to see one's own upvotes/downvotes when viewing threads, plus presenting the total number of upvotes/downvotes on the profile page, but again not showing the tallies for the individual posts, is the stupidest thing I've ever seen, to quote Steve Jobs (or was it Bill Gates). The old system was fine, and even better, it was not anonymous.

Also, I again find myself entering a message into a text box in Firefox where Ctrl+Left Arrow and Ctrl+Right Arrow takes me to the beginning and end of a line, respectively, instead of providing the standard behavior of skipping from word to word. I cannot even imagine how one manages to screw this up.

Is there anything better about the new forum software? I sure haven't noticed anything.

Jobs, when referring to the ESPN phone:

yes, it is entirely stupid -- there is no way to gauge the tallies on your own posts, which makes it sorta pointless to have tallies.

I thought this was just me. So over 2 months later and this bug/feature/weirdness still hasn't been addressed.

I had to create a new user account for the sole purpose of seeing the likes/dislikes.

Also - the link to the forum menu takes me to a "Page does not exist" error (iPhone 6s, Safari, latest OS). Pretty terrible.

yeah. another bug introduced w/ the new version -- a now-missing link on a quoted post going back to the source post. this was useful, but the new forum software now lacks it. the site also used to prevent sock-puppets from being created to troll w/ one-post-wonder messages, but not anymore.

i dont think theres anyone actually working on this website. i think the owner collects his Ad checks, they have a few unpaid mods, and a couple freelance writers and thats it.
