Wait a sec! The Apple store moved the "New" logos....

Remember before the expo a couple folks mentioned that the iMac didn't have a "New" seal next to it? Well check it out now! They have moved again! Does this imply that the remaining items without a 'new' designation will be the one's to be upgraded in the next few months?

I think the iMac will actually be updated again soon actually. Power Mac definitely within weeks. Incremental updates for all products before MWSF = almost a certainty.

<img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> Regarding the iMacs, what do you base another update on? The Power Macs? Certainly. But the new iMacs are the new iMacs. Video upgrade, widescreen edition, etc. See? NEW.

Some may expect radical bumps to the iMacs, but that line is in a sticky wicket with lower sales and larger inventory. If they can reduce the bloat, then expect a sooner rather than later update. But not in six or eight weeks, people!

Doh! I just saw MWSF part. Hm... before six months? I still say hesitantly "No." I don't see the industry as a whole turning around to warrant another revision before MSWF...

sCreeD, apparently you live in another dimension because the only update for the iMac was a new addition. The pre-existing models are still there with the same SKUs and same specs. I'm not sure if the SKU on the $1799 iMac changed to reflect the price drop, but that's just a formality anyway.

The 3 existing iMacs still have GeForce2 MX graphics and 15" screens.

Okay. A new iMac instead of new iMacs.

But then why debut a new higher-end (cost) iMac, which will ship around the time of the new Power Macs' debut, if it gets bumped a few months on? At most, the "new" iMacs would only meet some of the specs of the 17" iMac.

If we're talking about a significant revision (133MHz bus and so forth) then I still think it will be just before the holiday shopping season or MWSF.
