macbook 2008 to Capitan

I used apple macbook 2008 earlier. Can I install Capitan in my apple. I tried to update but it does not work!
Do you have any suggestion?

    A 2008 MacBook will only run 10.7 Lion. A 2008 MacBook PRO will run the latest version. There really isn't anything you can do about this.
